Testing oil spill containment equipment is a critical part of BSEE's mission protecting safety and the environment on the Outer Continental Shelf. Some testing is done at Ohmsett National Oil Spill Response Research Facility in BSEE's 2.6 million-gallon salt water tank for simulating ocean conditions.

We apologize for the inconvenience, but this page is currently having technical problems.

There may be several ways to help find the information you seek.

  1. BSEE.GOV is using a new search tool which has greatly enhanced our ability to help the public find information about the Outer Continental Shelf. You might have success trying some relevant search terms in the search box and review the results.
  2. Another possibility is that information you seek is now part of the BOEM.GOV website. BSEE was part of a major reorganization in October, 2011, when the Bureau of Ocean Energy Management, Regulation and Enforcement (BOEMRE), formerly the Minerals Management Service, was replaced by the Bureau of Ocean Energy Management (BOEM) and the Bureau of Safety and Environmental Enforcement (BSEE). As a consequence, some of the information about the OCS is now at BOEM.GOV.
  3. Finally, if you can't locate information found on the page you seek, please send an email to the BSEE  Webmaster and we will try to identify and repair the technical problem quickly.

Thank you.
