NEW ORLEANS – BSEE Gulf of Mexico Region leadership and staff hosted the U.S. Coast Guard District 8 (USCG D8) leadership and staff at the regional office July 28 to discuss operational issues. The quarterly meeting is just part of BSEE and USCG’s commitment to interagency collaboration since both entities have closely aligned jurisdictional and regulatory responsibilities offshore. BSEE Gulf of Mexico Regional Director Lars Herbst also had the opportunity to welcome USCG D8’s new commander Rear Admiral David Callahan. The group discussed hurricane season, trends in offshore drilling and production, offshore inspections, and deepwater mobile offshore drilling units.
