Kenneth Stevens

Kenneth C. “Kenny” Stevens serves as the Principal Deputy Director of the Bureau of Safety and Environmental Enforcement (BSEE), where he leads the bureau’s day-to-day operations and works closely with regional and program leadership to advance offshore energy safety and oversight across the Outer Continental Shelf.

Mr. Stevens brings over 30 years of experience in offshore energy, power generation, and international energy policy. During the first Trump administration, he held senior roles across the private and public sectors, including as a Senior Advisor to the Secretary of Energy. In that role, he helped lead U.S. engagement on energy and environmental strategy across the Western Hemisphere, advising federal leadership in international energy markets, offshore investment, and national security.

A Texas native, Mr. Stevens was appointed by Governor Greg Abbott and Lieutenant Governor Dan Patrick to serve on the State Energy Plan Advisory Committee, where he helped shape recommendations to strengthen and modernize Texas’ energy systems following the 87th Legislative Session.

Before joining BSEE, Mr. Stevens served as President and CEO of CnHn Strategies and held multiple executive leadership roles at GE Power and GE Aero Energy. His portfolio included commercial oversight for gas turbine systems supporting offshore production facilities in the Gulf, North Sea, and West Africa. He has led energy projects in more than 60 countries, with a career focused on improving safety, efficiency, and operational performance in complex environments.

Mr. Stevens holds a Bachelor of Science in Agricultural Economics from Texas A&M University and is a graduate of the U.S. Army Infantry Airborne School. His hometown is Navasota, Texas and currently lives in Washington D.C.
