Public Information Office
The Public Information Office (PIO) is the Gulf of Mexico Region. It’s focal point for customer requesting BSEE data available to the public. This data includes publications, CD & DVDs, NTLs & Technical Papers. PIO offers a “human touch” for the public to gather information from the BSEE database of Outer Continental Shelf (OCS) activities.
By accessing the database, Technical Information Management System (TIMS), the PIO staff can produce a variety of information.
TIMS information includes:
- PDF files (recorded to disks and mailed)
- ASCII files also recorded on optical disks
- FTP files to customer provided site
- Public geologic and geophysical information including:
- Well logs
- Velocity surveys
- Core analysis
- Other well file information
Public development and production information includes:
- development operations
- coordination documents
- well history
- well tests
- unit agreements
While much of the data is available on the web site at data.bsee.gov, the PIO staff is adept at helping requesters determine exactly what information they need from a highly - technical database.
