Last week Bureau of Safety and Environmental Enforcement (BSEE) Associate Director of Strategic Engagement Allyson Anderson Book traveled to Houston, Texas. Anderson was part of a panel discussion with former BSEE Director Michael Bromwich at the 66th Annual Oil and Gas Law Conference on February 20th. During the discussion she highlighted strengthened regulations over the past 5 years including requirements for key areas such as well design, blowout preventer testing and maintenance, and workplace safety. Anderson’s visit to Houston also included an in-depth presentation on emerging technologies from GE Energy with a look inside their facilities. Schlumberger rounded out the trip with a tour of their remote monitoring operations.
