CARPINTERIA, Calif. - Preparedness analysts with BSEE’s Oil Spill Preparedness Division traveled to Carpinteria, Calif. on September 22 to conduct an equipment verification of oil spill response equipment included in Pacific Operators Offshore, LLC’s Oil Spill Response Plan. BSEE analysts verified that the equipment was available and maintained as detailed in their plans by conducting inspections, reviewing maintenance records, and documenting equipment operability.
The equipment is owned and operated by Clean Seas, the operator’s contracted oil spill removal organization. The objective of equipment verification is to ensure that an operator has access to necessary resources outlined in its plan and to confirm that specialized equipment is in acceptable operating condition and is properly maintained.
