Today, Bureau of Safety and Environmental Enforcement Director Brian Salerno participated in a panel discussion on offshore energy at the 2014 Capital Hill Ocean Week in Washington, D.C. Director Salerno discussed the bureau's efforts to evaluate new and emerging technologies, the importance of developing a strong safety culture and managing risk offshore. Director Salerno also commented on the bureau's future role in evaluating the safety of offshore wind infrastructure.
Also participating in the discussion were Bureau of Ocean Energy Management Acting Director Walter Cruickshank, Center for Offshore Safety Executive Director Charlie Williams and Deepwater Wind Vice President Aileen Kenney.
