NTL 2012-G01-Joint - Vessel Strike Avoidance and Injured/Dead Protected Species Reporting - January 1, 2012

Guidance on how to implement monitoring programs to minimize risks of vessel strikes of protected species and report observations of injured or dead animals.   In place of formal observer program, the NTL provides guidelines to identify and avoid injury to marine mammals and sea turtles by reducing speed and maintaining appropriate distances from protected species.
