Director Watson participated in the Leadership for the Artic conference hosted by the U.S. Coast Guard Academy and the University of California's Berkeley School of Law. The conference, held at the U.S. Coast Guard Academy, provided maritime affairs academics, professionals and law specialists an opportunity to share their professional views with those charged with exercising leadership on Arctic policy formulation and implementation in the coming decade. Director Watson spoke with conference attendees about offshore safety in the arctic and possible future oil and gas exploration in the Chukchi and Beaufort Sea.
