In addition to research projects successfully completed under the OSRR and TAP programs, the bureau pursues other research initiatives to improve safety practices and protect the environment under the umbrella of its Technology Collaborations. This research leverages agreements with universities, federal partners and other agencies through Memoranda of Understanding or Agreement (MOU, MOA) and Interagency Agreements (IAA) to explore and advance new technologies or operational practices for the offshore environment.
