BSEE Seeks to Strengthen Helicopter-Related Safety On Fixed Offshore Facilities

Invites Public to Comment

Washington- The Bureau of Safety and Environmental Enforcement (BSEE) published an Advanced Notice of Proposed Rulemaking today in the Federal Register Reading Room soliciting public comments on improving the safety of helideck and aviation fuel operations on fixed offshore facilities. This notice is the most recent step in BSEE’s continued efforts to strengthen safety on the Outer Continental Shelf (OCS).

BSEE and Coast Guard Sign Memorandum of Agreement for Regulating Fixed Outer Continental Shelf Facilities

Today, Bureau of Safety and Environmental Enforcement (BSEE) Director Brian Salerno and U.S. Coast Guard Rear Admiral Paul Thomas signed a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) for regulating fixed Outer Continental Shelf (OCS) facilities. Through this agreement, both BSEE and the Coast Guard will review regulatory responsibilities for systems and sub-systems on fixed OCS facilities and collaborate on joint training activities.
